(Arcadia) – Arcadia had three different players score in double figures in a 58-53 win over Pasadena in the Pacific League opener at Arcadia High Wednesday night.
The Apaches’ defense did its job as well. Pasadena had just two players in double figures including 7- foot center Josh Irving who had just two baskets and 10 points overall.
Owen Edwards led the Apaches with 18 points and Mateo Ingersoll had 15 to set the pace for Arcadia Nick Wallace Jr., son of head coach Nick Wallace, had 12 points including two big threes in the second half.

Timmy Anderson carried the Pasadena offense. He scored a game high 25 points and hit three bombs from long distance. He hit a wide range of shots from beyond the arc, mid-range and on drives to the rim.
Arcadia was down 13-10 after the first quarter but outscored Pasadena 16-9 in the second quarter to take a 26-22 lead at the half. In the second Edwards hit five free throws and had seven points in the quarter. Wallace hit a pair of free throws as well as the Apaches were 8 of 10 from the line in the second.
The Apaches increased their lead to seven points in the third quarter as Noa Edwards, Owen’s brother, scored six points inside and Owen added a pair of buckets as well.
Arcadia was able to maintain the lead in the fourth quarter and hold on for the win. Ingersoll scored eight big points in the final frame.

Noa Edwards finished with nine points for the Apaches. For Pasadena Anderson and Irving were the only two players in double figures. Derek Jordan added eight.
“We’re working. It’s a battle. It’s a heavyweight fight. We know that they were good. So the main thing for us was to make sure we keyed on Timmy (Anderson) and Josh (Irving). I was proud of our guys. They worked really hard, so they deserved this,” said Arcadia head coach Nick Wallace. “But we know we belong. We’ll see them again and we respect them.”
Arcadia improved to 6-1 overall and 1-0 in the Pacific League. Pasadena fell to 3-1 and 0-1
