Slayton Resigns at Rosemead

Arlin Slayton has resigned as the head coach at Rosemead after four years.

(Rosemead) – Arlin Slayton has stepped down as the head football coach at Rosemead after four seasons he confirmed Thursday.

The Panthers made the playoffs once under Slayton during his four-year run. In his first year in 2022 they advanced to the second round of the CIF Division 14 playoffs before falling to Lynwood 27-26. Rosemead had an overall record of 13-29.

The Panthers went 5-5 (3-3, 4th in the Mission Valley League) last season.

Rosemead will begin the search for a new head coach immediately.

    The Rosemead AD really need to find a coach that is gonna bring the kids out to play. Its sad to see what the program has become the last couple of years.

    All they achieved ????? Forfeits due to conduct and eligibility issues .

    Maybe the program can start moving in the right direction now . The MVL has deteriorated into D14 brigade and Rosemead was completely unable to take advantage ; when they finally beat Arroyo, it was meaningless!
    because they were both bottom feeders .

    It’s not exactly correct to say Slayton stepped down, because that program was so low, any movement away from it is a step up. The NEXT ‘Mead coach will be taking a step down.
