Wilson ran the Montview League table last year and has several starters returning. However Nogales looks ready to make a move The Nobles have a solid quarterback and some other key players. Azusa has had a great summer and looks good for at least third place. The rest of the league is up for grabs.

Now, the sky is really falling (not really), as the Angels swept the Dodgers – AGAIN – and the Dodgers fell out of first place in the NL West. Oh no! Again, we are not that worried. The team has too much talent to get overly worked up about day-to-day performances.

Athletics Notes: 8/15/2025

Athletics Notes: Having the least experienced pitching rotation in baseball will come back to haunt a team but the A’s have held it together the last few weeks. A starter giving up more than 3 earned runs has been rare occurence since the Astros series but there were issues against the Rays. Sandwiched between the Rays complete 7-4 and 8-2 wins was probably the best pitched complete game by the A’s all season, a 6-0 shutout win for the green and gold.

Hacienda League at a Glance

Matt Castaneda’s Diamond Bar Brahmas won their last three Hacienda League games last year and are looking to take the next step.

The Hacienda League may be the most competitive league in the area. There is no clear cut favorite and nearly every team has a shot. We have Covina finishing first and Los Altos fifth but that could easily be reversed. Diamond Bar second and South Hills fourth? Okay but both teams could win league. Here we go.

The game between the Detroit Lions and the Atlanta Falcons was called at 6:31 of the fourth quarter after Lions safety Morice Norris Jr. had his head snapped back on a tackle. Read more »

Sierra League at a Glance

Bonita not only won the Serra League but the Bearcats won their first 11 games before falling in the playoffs to Edison. Charter Oak took second and Glendora finished third. Colony had to forfeit games due to sanctions and ended up 0-10 on paper, but is ready to go this year. Claremont brought in some transfers and had a good summer while Los Osos will need to get another win or two in league to break through.
