Bond Takes the Helm at APU

By Tim Peterson (Glendora) – Peter Bond, a former Azusa Pacific player and an 11-year assistant, has been named the new head basketball coach at APU. Bond replaced Justin Leslie who stepped down last week to take over as head coach at Midwestern State in Texas.

By Tim Peterson (Glendora) – Azusa Pacific jumped out to a 17-6 lead and never looked back in an 84-55 rout of Concordia Saturday at the Felix Event Center.

Elite Eight is Great for APU

(Azusa) – Azusa Pacific went on a 27-8 run to open the second half and went on to beat Cal Baptist 91-79 Monday night at Felix Event Center. With the victory the Cougars advanced to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Division II Tournament.

Cougars Start Slow, Advance Fast, 75-67

By Tim Peterson (Glendora) – Azusa Pacific turned the tables on Cal Baptist Saturday night. Two weeks ago the Lancers beat APU 87-80 before a raucous home crowd, but this time it was the Cougars who used a standing room only crowd to propel them to an 84-68 victory and to the cusp of a PacWest Conference title.
