(Hacienda Heights) – Dale Ziola, an assistant on last years’ staff will be named the Head Coach at Los Altos, sources say.
Ziola served under Jim Arellanes, who was let go last month after one season. The Conquerors finished 0-10 in 2010. Ziola, who will be entering his second year at Los Altos, was informed this morning of the decision.
Ziola played four years at Whittier College lining up at linebacker and guard. He was the Poets team captain in 2003. He received the Richard Nixon Award in 2003 as well as the Captain’s award. He was Academic All-SCIAC in ’02 and ’03.
He has been coaching for 6 years, 5 at Montebello High School and last year at Los Altos. Last year he coached the Frosh team to a 7-3 record.
“We had a great group of kids last year,” Ziola said.
Before attending Whittier College he graduated from Mammoth High School in 2000.
