Joe Torosian

Good Afternoon!

Who likes getting up at five to workout?

Oh, I’ve always been a Boston Bruins fan…Rick Middleton!!!

Note to Graduates: The best part of your life is in front of you…not behind you…

What if the college football players decided not to play? What if every Division-1 football player went on strike?

Yes, they would risk not getting the rest of their education paid for, but how much would the schools stand to lose?

Significantly more.

The college athlete, really concerned about earning their degree, could transfer to a Division-2 school…The athlete really serious about playing professionally could go to the UFL…

Recourse? What could the NCAA do?

If the players decided to “unionize” what do you think they would ask for? How big a slice of pie?

Could it happen?

Last Add Graduates: To those that road the pine during high school and begin to excel as a weekend warrior or in pick-up ball in the next few years…The argument about how the coach or an injury kept you from going Division-1 or pro gets weaker and weaker as time continues to roll…

Best to just shut up and play ball…

In the fall of 2010 Covina’s Nick Hynes was listed at 6’3 210…I’ve been told he’s supposed to be even bigger this year…

Last Add Covina: Ainsworth…Gevontray Ainsworth will be the difference in 2011…

Haven’t seen a riot like the one in Vancouver since I stopped the buffet at the office on Friday nights back in 2006…And that was before the days of Big Tony…

Yeah, that’s right, I want to get up early on a weekday morning and watch the U.S. Open on ESPN…

A recent NBA mock draft has BYU’s Jimmer Fredette going at number seven overall to Sacramento…Really? The best the Kings can do to inspire support and good will for them to stay in NorCal is Fredette? I like the guy, but doesn’t he just come across as a really good college player?

The Lakers should trade Don Ford to Cleveland for one of its number ones…

Okay, I’m sold on Bonita’s Nick Pichotta.

…But I’m having a hard time believing the Smudgepot will stay in La Verne…I’m leaning San Dimas in the big game.

With the field at San Dimas being ripped up this game will be at Citrus College…A very appropriate site considering the number of people who will be attending…

Oh yeah, it’s also where the Saints won the CIF Title in December of 2009…and they are going to have the same quarterback….Shawn Kennedy.

Former Temple City and USC standout Desmond Reed turns 27 today…

I hate Notre Dame…

Big George Hernandez was a no show at the Mid Valley volunteer workouts this past weekend…Neither was Albert Haynesworth…

The Dude abides…
