Garrett Tuck Key to Apache Uprising

Garrett Tuck Key to Apache Uprising

By Joe Torosian

Good Morning!

T-minus-71 until “The Mid Valley Classic”

Manny is back…And he may not hit a home run in his first at bat, or his second, or his tenth…but I believe he can hit a home run at some point…unlike Russ Martin and James Loney…Aka: Jason Kendall and Hal Morris…

Any names for the Arcadia-Monrovia game yet? How about “The Battle for B.J.’s Brewery”?

Whatever its called the key is going to be Garrett Tuck…Take away Arcadia nightmares against St. Franks and Muir and his numbers in 2008 go from decent to good…Expect him to only be better in 2009…

Are you kidding me? Only those who struggle with “Writers Block” (Which means I don’t want to work today) can’t come up with a new countdown…In sports there is always something on the horizon.

Case in point: Temple City at Arroyo… “The Mid Valley Classic”…

Speaking of old… Arthur Rhodes, that southpaw, you kinda sorta recognize, is still pitching…

Did you know Arcadia gave up over 50-points four times last season? Did you know, dating back to 1960, the Apaches had allowed only only four 50-point games during the regular season combined until 2008?

Reasons why some are optimistic about Gladstone in the Montview: They return 23 players, including their quarterbacks, the multi-talented Joseph Herrera, Andrew Martinez, and some serious bubbas along the front line…Duarte is off the radar, Azusa is rebuilding after a great year…Its Albert Sanchez’s Gladiators turn…

Joe Dumars and Detroit fans start to panic when their basketball team doesn’t make the Eastern Conference Finals. So they fire the coach and then spend good money on excellent players like Ben Gordon and Charlie Villanueva…The question in all of this, is why didn’t the Chicago Bulls lock up Gordon a long time ago? Did they have one of those handshake stronger than oak deals?

On the website the promotors of the Southern California Fiesta Bowl (at Whittier College on July 11)…predict a sell out…I’ll just be happy if everybody on the rosters show up. They’ve got some talent on the list…

I can appreciate the work Trevor Ariza did for the Lakers this season, but I think its important not to over appreciate him…he’s a part, but not a vehicle…On the other hand Ron Artest is a cracked block…

Don’t be too critical of Chicago Cubs manager Lou Pinella’s recent meltdown, you’ll be having the same reaction when your taxes go up again…

Stay thirsty my friends…
