Hornaday Makes it Four-In-A-Row

Indianapolis, In – For 355 races, no one had ever won four straight races in the NASCAR Camping World Truck series.  That was until tonight in the 15th running of the AAA Insurance 200 presented by JD Byrider, when Lancaster, Ca. native Ron Hornaday Jr. held off a late challenge from Mike Skinner.

Hornaday was running near the front through out the  as he lead 67 laps in the race.Hornaday took the lead for good on lap 169 when he passed Todd Bodine.

Early in the race it was Mike Skinner who was strong early on as he was quick early on.  He was then slowed when rookie Caitlin Shaw spun into the turn three wall on lap 38 that bunched the field up again.

The caution saw Kyle Busch come in to get new tires, which helped him when the race went green again on lap 41 that saw him get up to second behind Hornaday, before another caution was thrown on lap 99.

During the subsequent pit stops, Busch’s team got him out first, while Hornaday’s crew had trouble and was pushed back to fifth.

Busch would lead the next 49 laps, before being passed by Bodine on lap 150.  Bodine would lead the next 19 laps, before being passed by Hornaday.

Two laps later Bodine’s good night would end when pole-sitter Colin Braun knocked him into the wall while battling for second place.

Skinner appeared to be reeling Hornaday in with 15 laps to go only to see rookie Ricky Carmichael wildly hit the turn three wall to bring out the last caution of the evening.
