Keppel Crushes Coachella

By Corey Kwok (Alhambra) – The Lady Aztecs of Keppel, seeded #1 in Division 2-AA, and ranked 23rd in California by Maxpreps, hardly felt the faintest inkling of threat and powered past visiting Coachella Valley 86-16 at home in their new Aztec Arena to usher in the CIFSS 2-AA playoffs.

Better late than never when it comes to the first official Top 20 of the basketball year. The usual suspects head the top four spots, but Keppel is in the hung along with Whittier.

By Corey Kwok (Keppel HS) – The Keppel girls out rebounded Montebello 45-27 and nabbed 23 steals on the way to a 61-33 rout of the Lady Oilers Tuesday in Almont League action.  

La Canada and Chaminade to Meet in Semi’s

LA CANADA 46  VS FILLMORE 30 (La Canada, Ca)-  The Lady Spartans stifled Fillmore for three quarters enroute to a 46-30 victory in the final game of Pool A play to advance to the semi-finals of the New Year’s Ball Tournament.
