Arcadia 44 Hoover 37

(Arcadia) – The Lady Apaches navigated through a woeful shooting performance from the field (18 for 74) to stave off the Tornadoes 44-37.

Julissa Aguirre chimed in 20 points, 5 steals, 2 assists, and 2 blocks to lead the Apaches, who were also backed by Michelle Lai’s 10 rebounds-6 points and Melody Chang with 11 points-6 steals. Both Lai and Chang reeled off 3 assists along with Heather Young, who led the cookie raid with 7 steals.

Muir 50 Burbank 41

(Burbank) – Emoni Jackson executed yet another jewel for the Mustangs with a 20 point, 18 rebound effort (1 block, 2 steals, 2 assists), and the visiting Mustangs outlasted host Burbank 50-41.

Tierra Adams (9 points, 11 rebounds) and T.T Sweatt (6 rebounds, 7 steals, 5 assists) also played a huge role in helping the Lady Stangs keep Burbank at bay. Jerrica Daniels had 4 steals while Shaela Flynn overturned an otherwise cold day from the field by providing Muir’s offense with 4 assists.

Pasadena 49 Glendale 32

(Glendale) – With Pasadena’s overall and league records all nullified by recent forfeits, the Lady Bulldogs fielded only six players. But they turned to their height and athleticism inside with a steady dose of outside touch to defeat Glendale going away, 49-32.

The Joukadarian freshman twin sisters (Aleen and Nyre) both sparked Pasadena again in their second varsity game. Aleen got PHS 15 points and a trio of 3-pointers, including a wicked no-looker of a dime to Nyre for a layup with two seconds left before halftime. Megan Rutherford (8 rebounds) led all scores with 16 points, while Dariel Johnson (4 points) mopped up most of the other non-scoring mess by adding 13 rebounds, 5 assists, 4 steals, and 2 blocks.

Erlin Keshishzadeh topped the Lady Nitros with 8 points while Kristineh Zadourian had 6 points and 4 assists.
