(El Monte) – Tyler Shimamoto scored 22 of the team’s 44 points in Gabrielino’s 44-39 win over Arroyo on the Knights home floor.
Gabrielino outscored Arroyo 16-10 in the fourth quarter to put it away. Elijah Peters added seven points and nine rebounds for the Eagles who have moved into sole possession of first place in the MVL with a perfect 5-0 record. Arroyo fell to 4-1.
Rosemead 51 El Monte 47
(El Monte) – Ronnie Madrid (22) and Memo Silva (11) combined for 33 of El Monte’s 47 points but it wasn’t enough in a 51-47 loss to Rosemead.
The Panthers improved to 2-3 in league while El Monte dropped to 1-4.
Mt. View 62 South El Monte 57 OT
(South El Monte) – Mt. View outscored South El Monte by five in the fourth quarter to get even and went on to a 62-57 overtime win over the Eagles at South El Monte.
Elijah Morales led the Vikings with 16 points and Jonathan Almanza added 13 including three from long range.
Jimmy Martinez had 13 points and Chris Pinon had seven rebounds for the Eagles in a losing cause.
