Nogales and Sebastian Hernandez get a tough one Friday against South El Monte.

Kick it!

Going into the Lions Den on Friday…to watch them feed on the Christians…

Nogales is better than it showed against Rowland…It has to be.

Guess the NFL has to have New Orleans win the Super Bowl again.

I don’t know if any of the Covina guys are going to start high-fiving because a technicality gave them a win over West Covina.

There should be a new rule stating if a player didn’t touch the ball five times, make a tackle, or score a touchdown that no forfeit will be issued. Instead let the offending team keep the win, but surrender half the gate.

First Add San Marino: So are Titan safeties Kieran and Justin Ryan the local equivalent of the NFL’s Blackwood brothers Glenn and Lyle? (A true football fan knows exactly what I’m talking about.)

For the record you all know that Azusa Pacific left tackle Luke Marquardt is an NFL prospect? He’ll be on display with the rest of the Cougars Thursday night up at UC Davis.

Last Note Arroyo: All league performers Juan Hernandez (DT) and Zach Daniels (LB) were both out against Los Altos last week. Daniels is probable for Temple City, Hernandez is doubtful.

Walnut can throw the ball a little bit…Robert Gonzalez is not a bad running back.

Fast Note: Gladstone and Northview play at Covina District Field on Thursday night at 7:PM.

Note to Mayfair: Donde Josh Anderson?

Note to the Bell Gardens faithful: When Torrance came out and hammered Hawthorne early last week, it was not on the ground. Out of the double wing Jacob Kalama threw three touchdown passes to tight end Spencer Kovacs in the first half.

Just something to think about when you load up the box.

Last Note Covina: You heard it here first when they get shut out by La Puente on Thursday night…

…You heard it here last if they don’t.

“We flat out got beat,” says Joe Kanach about Alhambra 10-6 loss to Mt. View on Friday. “That football team that is a lot better than people think and they are well coached. We didn’t play well. I think our guys were waiting for Ezra (Broadus) to make a play and then he went out for most of the second half with cramps.”

Both Broadus and Sebastian Espinoza were limited in the Moors opener by leg cramps.

The Vikings victory over Alhambra was its first ever over the Moors…Then again the schools have only played twice in 41 seasons.

“We’re going to bounce back,” says Kanach.

Final Add San Marino. The Titans (Matt Wofford) should take care of business against Eagle Rock…Until South Pasadena beats San Gabriel, SM is the second best team in the Rio Hondo League.

South Pas/San Gabriel…is big this week. You might not think so, you might think its too early, but it’s not. Both schools have statements to make in their respective leagues.

Then again so does BG.

Put me in the Pro Ruben Jimenez camp!

…And put me in the Nathan Coto camp as well. The young Arroyo quarterback is going to be alright…Give him time, or at least give him time to see some of the Temple City secondary on Friday night…You’ll be glad you did.

The Dude abides…
