Fernando Ramirez is down for the year with a torn ACL
(South EL Monte) – South El Monte quarterback Fernando Ramirez has a torn acl and will be out for the season sources said Thursday. Ramirez started all of 2011 for the Eagles but hasn’t played this year after the injury the week before the season opener.
The injury was initially believed to be not serious but it was determined this week that he will miss the season. Back up quarterback Levi Wells, who transferred to South from La Habra in the summer, will be eligible to play after October 1. The Eagles are 2-2 on the season.
