1. Tim Tebow confirms he didn’t “ask out” of the Wildcat.

2. The Clippers have won 14 straight and have the best record in the NBA at 22-6.

3. Andruw Jones is out on bail after being arrested in Atlanta on suspicion of battery.

4. Baylor quarterback Nick Florence followed Robert Griffin III’s Heisman award winning season by throwing for 4121 yards and 31 touchdowns – just 172 yards and six touchdowns less than what Griffin threw for last year. Florence still has one game left.

5. Baylor vs. UCLA in the Holiday Bowl tonight at 6:45 at Qualcom Stadium in San Diego.

6. San Francisco 49er receiver Mario Manningham is out for the season with torn ligaments in his knee.

7. A.J. Pierzynski signs a one-year $7.5 million deal with the Texas Rangers.

8. Justin Pugh of San Dimas and Ruben Jimenez of El Monte tied for the Mid-Valley Division lead in sacks with 16.

9. Monrovia’s Brett Walsh led the Mid-Valley in tackles with 169.

10. On this date in 1953 Bobby Layne threw a 33 yard touchdown pass to Jim Doran to give the Detroit Lions a 17-16 win over the Cleveland Browns in the NFL championship game at  Briggs Stadium in Detroit.
