Braves Too Slick For Lions

(Baldwin Park)- Baldwin Park’s quarterback Michael Moran threw for three scores and rammed another in on the ground, in the Braves 47-18 win over El Monte Friday night at Baldwin Park High School.

The Braves scored on their first three possessions in the game making it 21-0 in the first quarter and at one point had a 34-0 lead before the half.

*** At halftime Baldwin Park was up 34-6.

*** El Monte’s Roy Barrajas (Soph) had seven catches for 152-yards a touchdown also had eight carries for 55-yards and a score, he was the lone bright spot for the Lions.

*** Lions quarterback Adrian Cuevas went 16 of 33 for 278-yards, 2-touchdowns along with 3-interceptions and was sacked five times.

*** Baldwin Park’s Moran completed 19 of 29 passes for 304-yards, 3-touchdowns and had 38-yards on the round and another score.

*** Braves’ DB Julio Tinajero had two interceptions one he took to paydirt from 33-yards out.

*** Baldwin Park’s WR/DB Jayson Miller had an interception and a 75-yard scamper to the end zone on a reception from Moran.

*** Braves’ running backs Christian Barazza and Hector Moran each scored touchdown on the ground.

*** El Monte travels to Ontario Christian next week, while Baldwin Park stays at home and looks to take back the Bell Trophy as they face cross-town rival Sierra Vista.
