(Rosemead) -Steven Nava threw a touchdown pass to Luis Luna on their first possession in overtime to lead Rosemead to a 34-27 win over Mt. View Friday night at Marinelli Stadium.
The Panthers and the Vikings exchanged leads or had the game tied up six times.
*** Rosemead’s Nava went 11 of 20 for 153-yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions.
*** Mt. View defensive back Trinidad Vargas had both picks.
*** Rosemead’s Alec Zavala carried the ball 27-times for 196-yards and a touchdown
*** Jose Moreno had 152-yards on the ground for Mt. View
*** Rosemead stopped both of Mt.View’s first half redzone trips allowing just two field goals.
*** The Vikings Brandon Logan and Brando Chavez both had fumble recoveries.
***Michael Sahagun had another monster game at linebacker for the Rosemead with 12 tackles.
*** The Vikings Brian Cervantes had nine tackles.
*** Panther receivers Luis Luna and Oscar Noriega combined for 131-yards and 3-touchdowns.
*** Rosemead led 7-6 at halfitme.
*** With a minute left in regulation Mt. View was up 27-20.
*** Noriega caught the game tying catch with 50 seconds left.
*** Chris Cervantes went 3 of 7 for 160-yards and three scores in the air for the Vikings.
*** Vikings Adam Olivas came out of the backfield to catch three passes for 160-yards and three touchdowns.
*** Rosemead (5-1, 1-0) faces South El Monte next week, while View (3-3, 0-1) takes on Gabrielino.
*** “This is not the View of old. Ambruso is doing a good job over there. Sometimes it’s better to too be lucky then good,” said Rosemead head coach Marc Paramo.
