Fausto Martinez scored four times for the Saints

(Baldwin Park) – San Dimas racked up over 400 yards on the ground and 572 yards overall in a 70-27 steamrolling of Baldwin Park Friday night. The Saints led 21-6 at the end of one and extended it to 42-13 at the half. They scored the last four touchdowns of the game to reach the 70 plateau.

Baldwin Park cut the lead to 42-27 with two quick scores to open the third quarter but a turnover and and then a recovery of a kick off led to two touchdowns for San Dimas and the rout was back on.

***The Baldwin Park captains refused to shake hands with the San Dimas captains after the coin flip and were hit with a unsportsmanlike conduct penalty. San Dimas then immediately cashed in when Josh Avila went 70 yards for a touchdown on the first play from scrimmage.

***Baldwin Park committed six personal foul penalties overall.

***Avila rushed for 75 yards and the touchdown on two carries and also threw for 156 yards and three scores.

***San Dimas had seven different players carry the ball for a total of 416 yards. Fausto Martinez led the way with 11 carries for 96 yards and four touchdowns.

***Chris Rufus ran for a touchdown and also caught a TD pass for San Dimas. Rufus had six carries for 82 yards and a touchdown and two catches for 24 yards and a score.

***Noah Reep recovered a fumble by Baldwin Park quarterback Michael Moran that led to a Saint touchdown in the third quarter an also hauled in a 32 yard pass from  Avila in the third to give San Dimas a 56-27 lead.

***Late in the second quarter, San Dimas blocked a Baldwin Park punt and turned it into a touchdown as Avila connected with Rufus for 25 yards.

***Moran threw for 242 yards and three touchdwns including two to Jayson Miller for 8 yards in the first quarter and 86 in the third. The 86-yard catch and carry cut the Saints lead to 42-27 early in the third.

***Miller had five receptions for 115 yards.

***Moran threw to nine different receivers.

***Avila’s biggest pass play was a 61 yard touchdown toss to Josh Aguilar in the second quarter.

***San Dimas improves to 3-4 overall and 3-0 in the Valle Vista while BP loses for the first time this year and are 5-1 and 1-1 in league.
