1.  Clayton Kershaw is headed for the 15-day disabled list for the first time in his career because of a swollen muscle in his back.

2.  OKC’s Kevin Durant extended his streak of scoring 25 points or more to 38 games in Sunday’s win over the Jazz. Durant needs two to tie and three to break Michael Jordan’s record of 40 straight.

3.  On this day in 1931 legendary football player and coach Knute Rockne died in a plane crash in Kansas at the age of 43.

4.  Puig, Ramirez, Gonzalez and Ethier were a combined 0-for-15 in the Dodgers 3-1 loss to the Padres Sunday night.

5.  Ron Brown, Olympic gold medal winner and former Los Angeles Rams receiver and father of Diamond Bar’s Tyler Brown turns 53 today.

6.  L.A. Kiss hold select-a-seat event at the Honda Center on Sunday in anticipation of Saturday nights home opener.

7.  Arcadia’s Joey Harmon is 4-1 with a 1.50 era in five starts.

8.  Ont this day in 1986 Louisville defeated Duke 72-69 in the NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship.

9.  MLB and MLBPA agree to increase the penalty for using PED’s from 50 to 80 games for first time offenders and from 100 to 162 games for a second offense.
