1.  NBA Hall of Fame coach Dr. Jack Ramsay passed away today at the age of 89. Ramsey guided the Portland Trailblazers to the playoffs 16 out of the 20 seasons as coach.

2.  Former Bonita Bearcat Adam McCreery is 5-2 in 11 starts with 68 strikeouts and an ERA of 3.32 for APU.

3.  The Dodgers drop two out of three to the Rockies and are tied for second place in the National League West 1.5 games back of the Giants.

4.  The L.A. Kiss drop their third straight 48-32 to San Jose and drop to two games under .500.

5.  North Carolina State head coach Jim Valvano passed away from cancer at age 47 on this day in 1993.

6.  La Canada’s Johnny Selsor leads the Rio Hondo League in batting with a .455 average with one home run and seven rbi’s.

7.  Sophomore Derek Zavala of South El Monte leads the Mission Valley League with a .486 average with one home run and 14 rbi’s.

8.  On this day in 1966 the Boston Celtics win the NBA title beating the Lakers four games to three.
