Kick it!

Oh, I’ve always been a Kings fan! Bernie Nicholls was great last night!

Interesting how if a coach promotes his players and gets excited about them going to college…then he’s all hype and no substance. Then if a coach does nothing he’s just a bum, who doesn’t care about his players.

Note to Coaches: You all should have been Pastors…and whether you know it, or not, you really are.

MVS commentor “wow” asked in yesterday’s column “What about Monrovia?…any word” and my answer is nothing. Unless in some strange act the Rio Hondo League is moved into the Southeast nothing will change for the Wildcats.

Essentially what yesterday accomplished was it allowed teams to complete the 2014 schedule.

Maybe the Lakers can rehire Del Harris.

Magic Johnson’s tweet about Mike D’Antoni’s resignation show’s how small he has become over the years. To me Magic is the greatest basketball player who ever lived. I would take him every day of the week over Michael Jordan and Lebron couldn’t carry his jockstrap…but no matter how cool he attempts to come across, he is the establishment now and drifts further and further away from actual relevancy.

NorRock’s Ryan McDowell getting D-I interest this spring.

I’d like to formerly welcome Charter Oak back into our coverage zone. I’m going to go out, on a not too dangerous, limb and declare them front runners for the Southeast Division title.

And just in case nobody knows…Not only does CO WR/RB Zion Echols have the best name in area football, but with 21 touchdowns scored as a sophomore he’s among the very best in the Southeast already.

Last Add Charter Oak: This doesn’t mean much but, in regards to who is coming back, the Chargers look slightly undersized compared to previous teams.

And the Mid Valley Sports staff, even without Big Tony, is still slightly oversized…

First Add Dodgers: Who will we see in a Dodger uniform sooner Jack Fimple or Tim Federowicz?

Throw Me a Freaking Bone: Can somebody up the coast, and I know some of you read us, explain to me the Tri County Athletic Association and the 14 teams that belong to it? Can you tell me what the Tri-Valley League will look like this year? Will one or two schools replace Oak Park? I’m sure I’ll eventually get a grasp of this, but sooner would be better than later.

One More Time: For those wondering why Mid Valley Sports cares about what is happening around Santa Barbara…The Tri-Valley League is the dominate league in the Northwest Division. So it matters until they are moved out.

If La Salle makes the playoffs this fall, Russell Gordon should be named “Coach of The Year”.

I do have a tendency to fall in love with schools that have potential. Pomona is one of them and because of that I just don’t know how Bassett or La Puente is going to compete with the Red Devils.

LP has been solid for a long time and should continue to be and Bassett is getting better by the moment. Yet with all of that, a focused Pomona team will not be stopped in the Miramonte…Unless the school district does something crazy.

And if the Miramonte ends up in the Northwest, without a Tri-Valley League, then the Red Devils are playing football into late November and early December. Ditto in regards to Baldwin Park.

This is why it all matters.

Last Add Dodgers: Thank you Dan Haren…at least for now.

Regards:
In regards to Florida Sate quarterback Jameis Winston getting busted for shoplifting: If he were in the MLB, they would just tell him to be less obvious when he steals.
In regards to “Survivor”: Paranoia kills the Golden Goose…or in this case Tony.
In regards to Fantasy Baseball: It’s a lot more fun when your team is in first place.
In regards to Blood Moon: Don’t care, but I do love blood oranges.
In regards to the Milwaukee Brewers: Starting to dig them.
