1. Floyd Mayweather (46-0) announces he’ll have a rematch with Marco Maidana (35-4) on September 13 after his controversial majority decision victory in May.

2. On this day in 1939, the New York Yankees honor Lou Gehrig as the first Yankee to have his uniform number retired.

3. Montebello HC Pete Gonzalez, who coached the West to a win in the 605 All-Star in June is the first coach to win the game as the head coach of the East and the West.

4. On this day in 2009 former Titans and Ravens quarterback Steve McNair is found shot to death in his home.

5. Norwalk senior DE/TE Esteban Rosiles (6-1, 240) had 32 solo tackles – 49 total in 2013.
