By Tim Peterson (Norwalk) – Former Norwalk standout running back Rashaad Penny, who went on to star at San Diego State, was taken with the 27th pick overall in the NFL draft Thursday night by the Seattle Seahawks.

I like covering the high school football all-star games. It’s a chance to see the seniors suit up one last time and maybe for some, the last time. It’s football after all so if there’s game I’m covering it.

West Wins Down the 605

(Cerritos) – The West defense kept the East out of the endzone and shut them out completely in the second half and went on to win the 605 All-Star Game 12-3 Friday night at Cerritos College. The West All-Stars didn’t score themselves through the first three quarters but rallied for 12 in the final frame to secure the win.
