(Baldwin Park) The Northview Vikings took their 2-0 record to Baldwin Park Friday evening and came away with their record still unblemished after a 20-6 win over the Braves.

Both teams struggled in the early going to get consistent offensive production and the and the score reflected it as the teams ended the first half with Northview leading 7-6. A lead they never surrendered.

***The Viking defense held the Braves to 103-yards of total offense.

***The only offensive output for Baldwin Park was Dylan Mora who booted two first half field goals of 42 and 43-yards.

***The only score in the first half for Northview was provided by Elijah Grijalva who capped an eight play 69-yard drive with a five yard touchdown run.

***Brave quarterback Antwaun Ayers led all Baldwin Park ground gainers with 42-yards on 10 carries.

***Andres Hooper had a stellar night carrying the ball for the Vikings gaining 198-yards on 24 carries.

***Opening the holes for Hooper to run through Northview LT Jaron Reed, LG Rogelio Padilla-Mendez, C Anthony Padilla, RG Nicholas Torres, RT Michael Gutierrez.

***Grijalva had all three scores for the Vikings on runs of five, eight and five yards.

***Providing protection for Ayers were Brave offensive line LT Francisco Perez, LG Fredy Monroy, C Eric Flores, RG Freddie Gallegos, RT Isidro Castro.

***Northview freshman quarterback Steven Comstock accounted for 65-yards through the air and 64 on the ground.

***The Vikings are on the road again next week to take on Walnut while the Braves remain at home for a visit from Ganesha.
