(Fontana) – What was predicted to be a close matchup between two top teams in the Central Division turned out to be a showcase for Glendora. The Tartans roughed up Kaiser 28-7, behind a stellar defensive performance that held the Cats usually potent ground game to 143 total rushing yards on the night from its season average of over 250.

The Tartans scored on their first possession of the game behind a seven yard strike from Matt Fink to Campbell to go up 7-0 with 4:44 left in the first quarter. Kaiser’s only points of the game was set up by an interception which gave Kaiser great field position at Glendora’ own 30. Seven plays later the Cats’ Hernandez scored from one yard out to tie the game at 7-7.

Unfortunately for the Cats’ this would be as good as it would get. Glendora’s Fink found Collin Grady over the middle for a 40 yard TD pass with 0:59 left in the half to take the lead 14-7. Kaiser proved to be one dimensional, the limited success Kaiser had running the ball in the first half gave way to a second half with more of the same. The Tartans added two scores in the second half, 1 in the third and 1 in the fourth en route to a final of 28-7.
