1. Clemson, Alabama, Oklahoma and Iowa are ranked 1-4 in the College Football Poll.

2. A high ranking official involved in the decision making process said that it is a good possibility that LSU will buy out Les Miles contract.

3. The Philadelphia 76ers fell to 0-15 Monday night after a 100-95 loss at Minnesota.

4. The Golden State Warriors rout the Lakers 111-77 to become the first team in NBA history to start the season 16-0.

5. 49er quarterback Colin Kaepernick has an extensive labrum tear in his left non throwing shoulder and his timetable for a return is four to six months.

6. Cleveland Brown quarterback Johnny Manziel loses his starting job after videos surfaced this week showing him partying last weekend in Texas on the team’s bye week.

8. Even though he has a cameo in the movie, legendary NFL coach, Don Shula, has never seen “Ace Ventura: Pet Detective.”

9. On this date in 1980 Sugar Ray Leonard beat Roberto Duran in the famous “No Mas” fight. In the closing seconds of the eighth round Duran walked away from Leonard and turned toward the referee and told him “No mas.” Leonard was declared the winner by TKO at 2:44 of the eighth round.

10. Duran later claimed that he quit because of stomach cramps but his trainer Carlos Eleta said otherwise. “Duran didn’t quit because of stomach cramps. He quit because he was embarrassed.”
