1. Former Head Coach Steve Sarkisian sues USC stating that the school discriminated against him due to alcoholism and breached his contract.
2. Alabama running back Derrick Henry, Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson and Stanford running back Christian McCaffrey were announced as the finalists for the Heisman Trophy.
3. USC Head Coach Clay Helton fired four assistant coaches including DC Justin Wilcox the day after the Trojans 41-22 loss to Stanford.
4. The Chicago Cubs signed free agent infielder/outfielder Ben Zobrist to a four-year, $56 million contract.
5. Klay Thompson hits 10 3-point shots on his way to 39 points to lead Golden State to a 131-123 win over Indiana. The Warriors improved to 23-0.
6. LeBron James signs a lucrative lifetime deal with Nike.
7. The Redskins, Eagles and Giants are all tied for first place in the NFC East at 5-7. The Cowboys are a game back at 4-8.
8. Former Maranatha star Tyler Dorsey is leading Oregon in scoring averaging 14.4 points per game.
9. Happy Birthday to former NBA star World B. Free who turns 62 today.
