7.) Outfielder Dexter Fowler re-signs with the Chicago Cubs for 1-yr/$8-million.

8.) Northview quarterback (junior-to-be) Steven Comstock threw for 2,698 yards and 31 touchdowns. He rushed for 1,054 yards and 19 touchdowns. In two seasons on the Vikings varsity he has started 25 consecutive games.

Major League Baseball and the players’ union have banned rolling blocks to break up potential double plays…takeout slides and neighborhood plays—where a middle infielder fails to touch second base—will be subject to video review. In the past, the neighborhood play wasn’t covered by instant replay.

10.) Golden State Warriors’ guard Steph Curry scores 51 in a 130-114 victory over the Orlando Magic on Thursday night. It was his third 50-point game of the season, and 10th 40-plus performance.
