By Tim Peterson

(La Puente) – Michael Tamayo, who served as the Freshman football coach last year, has been named the interim head coach at Bassett sources confirmed.

“This is a great read for everyone: from those who love high school football to those who have no idea about the game.” "This book brings you onto the field and into the locker room..." The head coaching position is still open and there is a chance that Bassett could name a head coach before the season begins but for now it’s Tamayo. Sources say it’s a better chance that Tamayo will still be at the helm when the season kicks off in September.

Tamayo takes over for Hector Spathias who was dismissed as HC earlier this month.
