1. Golden State Warriors guard Steph Curry wins NBA League MVP unanimously. It is the first time in league history a player has garnered all first-place votes.

2. Angels latest player to go on the DL is Andrelton Simmons who will have season-ending UCL surgery on his thumb.

3. Los Angeles Kings and head coach Darryl Sutter are at an impasse in contract negotiations.

4. Both Dallas Stars and Nashville Predators force Game Sevens in Western Conference semi-finals.

5. Former La Canada phenoms Catherine Horner (Tulsa), Lauren Cox (USC), and Lauren O’Leary (Georgetown) all graduated over the weekend from their perspective colleges. All three were part of two CIF title teams for the Spartans.

6. 75-years ago today Eddie Arcaro guided Whirlaway to a Preakness victory.

7. For those that missed it, Mets defeated the Dodgers 4-2 at Chavez Ravine.

8. 107 years ago today, Winchester’s Fred Toney no-hit Lexington for 17-innings.
