Eric Elias is back in the SGV as an assistant at Schurr.

(Montebello) – Long time assistant Eric Elias has retuned to the San Gabriel Valley as he joined the staff at Schurr he confirmed Sunday.
Elias spent the last two years as an assistant at Buena Park but prior to that he spent 10 years at Arcadia under the tutelage of head coach Jon Dimalante.
Elias will coach the quarterbacks and help out with the offense for the Spartans.
“I’m excited to get back out there in the SGV,” Elias said.
“He will be with us for the start of spring. We’re really happy with it (the hire),” said Schurr HC David Ramos.

Garfield likes to claim home grown model but everyone knows the kids come from other areas

Staff has a balance of young And veteran coaches. To say that they are egocentric? I must correct you and say that they are confident. What coach have you ever met that didn’t show a little confidence. The players that they have on the field this season I would be a little confident too. I believe that’s why they scheduled Garfield…..to shut them up. Lol. Only time would tell what Ramos can do with a good group of kids and a “egocentric ” staff. Funny that when Ramos got hired people hated the hire but it’s looking like a good hire
Huge hire! This goes to show some programs stay on top because the head coaches bring in the brightest coaches. The programs that annually fail is probably due to head coaches who fear anyone else appearing smarter than himself.
I’m shocked he picked Schurr?!! He’s been a coordinator on both sides of the ball and from what everyone says about him… he probably should have taken a HC position with all these openings someone! Schurr has the youngest most egocentric staff in the Valley. Maybe this we’ll help Ramos with a balance! Almont still goes through Pete and the boys in blue
What a steal! Schurr can only get better… good job Ramos, offense should be exciting to watch!
Not hating on the guy 1 bit. I’m sure he’s an excellent coach. But assistant coaches move all the time. Lots of other good coaches with movement too. Best guy around IMO who needs to find a coaching home is former DR HC and DC Mario Gomez.
Schurr still gonna lose to Montebello! Oilers own them.
