The TCASA Titans are off and running in the 12 year old and under girls softball league. They have won six of their first seven games including two victories this week in which they racked up 18 runs.

“We have the look of a championship team,” said Titans’ Coach Bill Dwyer.

Indeed they do after beating Arcadia 8-6 on Thursday followed by a 10-2 win over the TC Huskies on Saturday at Live Oak Park.

Against Arcadia the Titans jumped out to an 8-0 lead before withstanding a late Arcadia surge to win by two. In the Saturday night affair the Titans raced out to a 10-0 advantage and never looked back. Here’s how it went.

Thursday 3-18

TC Titans 8 Arcadia 6

(Longley Way) – The Titans got two runs in the first and five more in the second to jump out to a seemingly comfortable 7-0 advantage. However they had to white knuckle it late in the contest as Arcadia responded with six runs but the Titans held on 8-6.

Bailee Weisz and Vanessa Dwyer both scored in the first inning to get the Titans started. In the second Jessica Alvarado, Summer Hofstad, Kaitlyn Gibson, Audrey Enriquez, and Alexis Estrada all crossed the dish as the Titans broke it open.

TCASA Titans have a record of 6-1 so far this season

Nicole Schabow came home in the third to extend it to 8-0 and the Titans were on cruise control.

However Arcadia got off the floor for six in the fifth inning and had the tying runs on base with two outs. But Dwyer closed it out by going to her knees to smother a comebacker and then getting up and gunning the throw to first to end it.

Dwyer started the game and went four innings before being relieved. She then re-entered the contest when Arcadia came storming back.
