8.) On this date in 1963, Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher, Sandy Koufax gave up a game-tying homer to New York Yankees outfielder, Micky Mantle in the top of the seventh inning. In the bottom of the frame Willie Davis knocked in Jim Gilliam and the Dodgers retook the lead, 2-1. Koufax went the rest of the way, fanning eight, to give Los Angeles a four-game sweep of New York

    I second Tim’s opinion of Lee ‘hacksaw’ Hamilton. Here was a man who came to work prepared, with definite things to discuss and sift through, and I always came away from his show with a better understanding of whatever was “on the table” as he used to say.

    Altuve could be standing 3rd in line at the El Monte Taco Bell and nobody would know who the hell he is.

    On the one hand, no one cares. On the other hand, Pasadena beat CV in JV football last night on a walk-off 45 yard field goal. Not something that happens every day in JV ball. Varsity either, for that matter.
