LA parents will no longer have to deal with this years coach’s! Thank God. The coaching staff has had way too many issues on all levels freshmen, jv, and varsity. Hopefully by the time my younger boys get to LA we have our coaching staff figured out.

Maybe next year, Amat. Perhaps D2 or D3 will suit you better.

Well, it looks like these ER players made the right call, or else they might actually be playing tonight against a #1 seed.

The problem with ER is that the parents are too involved. If little “Jimmy” doesn’t start then they are upset. They don’t blame the athlete they blame the coach! It’s ALWAYS the coaches fault.
They will say things like “If he played for the Wolverines/Dons, he would have started” (or vise versa). If little “Jimmy” dropped a ball.

Bottom line is kids need to be accountable. I think Medrano had these kids in a position to win games, they just didn’t execute.

ER has a leadership council? LOL That explains a lot. Let’s hope this “Leadership Council” can back coach Medrano when his job is on the line and not throw him under the bus. Hope the school gives Medrano the time needed to build a winner.

Why is nobody talking about Jude Oliva coaching at Schurr. I heard a rumor he has been there all season. Is this true.

My son tells me Vela quit before spring ball. Was told to give it some thought before making a final decision. Told coach he wanted to concentrate on baseball. He changed his mind in fall practice. Coach Medrano gave the team’s leadership council an opportunity to vote to let him on the team or not after missing spring and summer practice. The council didn’t think it was fair to the team to let him back. Good luck in the playoffs

A player missed spring football, summer camp and hell week so there is nothing left to question on why he wasn’t let back on. On the contrary you were a red zone opportunity from your league title being taken away but realistically you might be right Vela or no Vela qb play was very bad so we probably wouldn’t have won anyway. Can we please stop talking about ER now and give the spotlight to the teams who deserve it.

In talking to some ER parents at a Halloween party, many still don’t understand why coach didn’t allow the RB Vela back on the team. They feel that he could’ve help. Don’t think anything would have helped them this year. Better luck next year.

ElRancho has been on Medrano’s jock prior to his hiring. Now that Medrano is 8-14, ER is blaming it on the players. No one cares that Medrano won one playoff game. When did one playoff win determine a successful season? His playoff win obviously did not carry over to this season… If ER is struggling with the type of athletes enrolling in the school, maybe they should go to the new 605 League.

Amat is a football school… lets be clear on that. Its a great school, has alot of spirit and tradition. i personally like Amat…. i wont bash that they stay D1… but if they dropped to D2… they would roll on everyone.

academics wise… its on the kid to do well, excel and prosper in the books. Lets stop these excuses of blaming the system why little johnny does not graduate or does not learn anything … parents have access to counselors and grades… blame yourself.

ill take my kids to the worst highschool in LA or the world and they still will do what i expect of them

The freshmen team actually was heavily talented however some extra curricular things happened and it’s culture over individuals and that’s all that needs to be said.

Let me guess, they’re transferring to Santa Fe right. You have no clue. The freshman head coach will not be moving up. He may not want to return. Rumor has it that Pierson won’t be coming back next year as well. His son is graduating this year.

The El Rancho coaching staff from Freshman to Varsity are all pathetic. Nobody knows what they are doing. There’s kids that will be leaving that program next year because of the coaching staff. I hear that they will be moving up the idiot Freshman Coach what a joke. No wonder kids want to leave next year. There’s no leadership. SMH!
