@BG your right, the charter oak staff made a lot of game changing call that helped curtain teams. They made bad call for there rivals.

This is 7 on 7 the QB can not run genius, plus our QB is a 4.5 40 guy.

ER is improved at the skill positions however lots of kids including the best athlete have been out most of spring. Multiple impact kids who chose not to play last season are back and will make a huge difference. Last year we had a 5’5 130lb kid making plays for us, that will not be the case this season. ER is very strong on the line and front 7. About time we graduated the worst senior class the ranch had seen in decades.

ER has problemos. No speed or size at the skill positions. Same as last year but worse.

Nice to hear about SG again. Could they be the monkey wrench in the Almont?

  12. May 21, 2018 - 8:54 am | Permalink

    @Area schools
Surprise of the tournament was SG for sure. They’re aren’t world beaters but they are showing improvements. Huge receiver/tight end!

Arroyo had zero athletes! But they are well coached!

I’m not so sure about LS winning the del rio. That Qb looked very much not ready. Couple decent athletes but no one that stands out. I gotta think ER makes a push this year. Provided of course they fix the offensive mistakes issue. But athletically ER looks better

Los Altos looked pretty good. They had some athletes out there, but some of their main horses were missing.
CO always has athletes out there. But we’ll see how all these teams fare when they put those pads.

Angelus chump please do everyone a favor and walk through traffic on the 110. Didn’t you once come on this blog claiming to be a saint franis guy who just supported the teams in the Angelus leauge? Your a joke , no one likes or believes you here. Did you also claim public school kids to be less intelligent than private school kids. Does that also apply to the public school kids that you guys bring in ? Or does that get swiped clean when they check in. Sad thing about you Angelus fan aka Carlos , at cathedral your still the village idiot to everyone their. Truth hurts little man. Did you guys have that 7on7 National ring ceremony last year. I know you put your ring order in. Did you run the the 50yard line to accept your ring. I’m sure the ingraving said Pearson troll. Chump 🤭

From what I saw at the Charter Oak Tournament:
Charter Oak: Athletic as always, will make a run like always

Arroyo: Surprised at the lack of athleticism but still well coached and will win league

Bell Gardens: saw them against Muir and Alemany, offensively they can do some damage, kids making catches all over the place. Defensively they need a lot of work

La Habra: QB is a beast, will compete for a CIF Championship

La Serna: lost to Los Altos and La Habra picked them apart, will run the Del Rio but depends on what Division they are in QB is the weak spot. They will be a running team

Los Altos: not as athletic as I thought but ahead of where I thought they would be with a new staff

St. Francis: well coached but you can see they have a lot to replace at QB and other spots. Still a scary team

Warren: not sure whats going on but I watched San Gabriel dismantle them. Kids looked like they didn’t want to be their and the coaches looked lost. Could be a long year for them

San Gabriel: pleasantly surprised but they had athletes last year. Will come down to what they have in the trenches and from what I was told they don’t have much. Still, should be improved from last year

Pioneer: new league but will be the same result. No playoffs and maybe 2 or 3 wins

Baldwin Park: interesting to see what they have in the trenches. Don’t think they are going to be the next Arroyo (not yet anyway)

Muir: undisciplined and confused against Bell Gardens. Coaches on the field and on the sideline arguing with Charter Oak staff members while their kids are asking what defense they are running. Sad because they have some athletes!

Just my thoughts and I am a nobody!

Well, Mr. Peterson we will have to disagree on this but one thing is correct, San Gabriel is improved in the 7 on 7 department. I did witness them beat a very athletic looking Warren team on Saturday. This being stated, what is going on at Warren, the coaches looked lost and the players were very undisciplined!

SG looks improved because of the system they are in now…they had similar athletes before just had them in the wrong spots

I will state FACTS again, San Gabriel beat Corona Santiago’s freshmen team. Santiago had two teams in the tournament. Coach Morrison coached the 2nd team while his OC and DC were with the 1st team. The 1st team were in the Pool with Etiwanda and Bell Gardens. If you don’t believe me ask the Charter Oak staff, Oaks Christian and Garfield dropped out and Santiago had enough to split their squad. Let’s not jump on the San Gabriel band wagon quite yet!
From T. Peterson: That’s what we thought at first too. But then the coaches verified to us that it was Corona’s first team, not second. Also SG was up on Charter Oak early in the game before CO came back. The Mats gave them a game. I’m not on SG’s bandwagon but it is clear, not just to me but to all of the coaches at the CO Tourney, that San Gabriel is a much improved team.

7 on 7 is a joke and does not show how the team will perform during the season. Cathedral used to win all the tournaments they played in but never won an actual championship. San Gabriel will be average at best.

San Gabriel will lose to Montebello, Bell Gardens, and Schurr. They might give Alhambra a run for 4th place. Don’t hold your breath Tim!
From T. Peterson: I was skeptical too when I had 3 0r 4 different coaches tell me that they looked good. So I saw them for the first time today. They were right. Vastly improved from last year. Didn’t even look like the same team from last year or even the last few years. Good quarterback and receivers – a tight end that’s a beast. Will they win the Almont? Probably not. Make the playoffs? Possibly. But it is good to see that they will be relevant again. I’m telling you they beat Corona Santiago and gave Charter Oak a game.
