1. The Oklahoma City Thunder have agreed to trade Carmelo Anthony and a 2022 protected first round draft pick to the Atlanta Hawks for guard Dennis Schroder and forward Mike Muscala. Anthony is expected to be waived and become a free agent.

2. Brent Musburger will become the new radio voice of the Oakland Raiders replacing Greg Papa who has been there the last 21 years.

3. Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Nick Foles was the top ranking player in the NFL in all merchandise sales from March to May.

4. Of the five minor league players the Dodgers traded to acquire Baltimore Orioles shortstop Manny Machado, only one is considered a top prospect.

5. The Cleveland Indians acquire All-Star reliever Brad Hand from the San Diego Padres for catching prospect Francisco Mejia.

6. “Tony Nieto, long-time baseball coach at California High, has announced his resignation from the team. I wish him well in whatever the future may hold.” – MVS Commenter “So Long Coach.”

7. On this date in 1970 the Dodgers’ Bill Singer threw a no-hitter in a 5-0 win over the Philadelphia Phillies.

8. Also on this date in 1976 Henry Aaron, as a member of the Milwaukee Brewers, hit the 755th and last home run of his career off the Angels’ Dick Drago.

    #2 Mushmouth was one of the very first sports broadcasters to openly display the east coast bias when it came to announcing. I guess he’s fallen on hard times having to get his paycheck from a west coast team. Joe Buck has picked up the torch for him though.

    They did carbon dating on Musburger and found that he probably witnessed the extinction of the dinosaurs. That means he knows a lot about the life & times of Al Davis, which is probably why they’re hoisting this relic aboard.
