I believe that the level of discourse would improve noticeably, maybe even dramatically, if every blog required people to use their real names.
The practice of allowing individuals to make posts using monikers or pseudonyms has been a huge mistake. The name-calling that I’ve seen here and on some political blogs is particularly juvenile.
I don’t believe in posting anything that I’d be too embarrassed to attach my real name to. It’s disgusting to see supposedly grown people trading insults and calling each other out while using fake screen names for protection.
I think it’s time to tighten the rules here.

From T. Peterson: They’re all over the place. Some are at 5:30, others at 6:00 or 6:30. It looks like most of them are earlier though, not at 7:00.

Go away & take your ball and go home already. The following are the amount of transfers at MHS over the last 5 years for all sports. Will you go away now? Last 5 years you/MHS has more transfers than Schurr. Shut the DELETED up. All legit, right?

Scientists have come out yesterday and predicted the super heating trend is man made and here to stay. And now with politicians saying its a hoax we are pouring more crap into our air than ever. Plus we have now passed the point of critical mass. There is nothing we can do to stop it. We will be nearly extinct by the end of the century. Those humans still alive will be living in deep caves. Cockroaches will survive though. Sports? Sports will go the way of the dodo bird. Teach your sons video games.
A scrimmage in 100 degree heat is a great idea for the coaches who are out there in shorts and a lifeguard hat. Not so much for any player in full gear.

@ Bring It On: I hope the temperature can inch somewhat closer to zero in the next ten days, so we’ll be able to play football on opening night.
Otherwise, we could once again see games cancelled by several local school districts because of concern about heat-related health problems.
I believe that it would be a good idea to move the beginning of the high school football season back to the end of August or early September. The easiest way to accomplish this would be to eliminate the state playoff and bowl games, which, in my opinion, serve largely as “charity fundraisers” for CIF.
Such a move would shorten the season by two weeks. As it now stands, the season starts too early and lasts too long.
Greed is not good when it comes to high school football scheduling.
FBFan, I stand corrected. You are right to a point. I was a player and a coach and now just a parent. I wonder in two years when I no longer am a parent of a player will I show up to these games? Time will tell.

My handle is perfect. It’s not FBcoach or FBplayer, it’s Fan! So yes, while it may be exciting for players and a great time for coaches to try out their new headsets and solidify the depth chart, they’re pretty boring for fans.
Below zero week? I’m not usually a fan of cold weather, but with the unrelenting heat out there, I’d like to give it a try.
FBFan, you need to change your handle. These game mean so much more than a “snooze fest.” These games get the butterflies jumping for these kids again and for those first year varsity kids they feel something they will never forget. You must have not played or coached because these game help coaches and players finalize roster spots and starting spots, at least for the first game of the season. If you are keeping score in this game then you in it for the wrong reasons. Good luck to all and prayers for no serious injuries to all!

These scrimmages are snooze fests. QBs don’t get hit. Very little kicking game. Everyone plays. The coaches are buddy-buddy and will tell one another what they’re going to run and they are very scripted. And then the fans will argue about who beat who.
