Calvin Copping threw seven shut out innings

Temple City 1 South Pasadena 0 10 innings

Branden Pultz’ base hit in the bottom of the tenth inning plated Julian Jarrard to give Temple City a 1-0 win over South Pasadena Friday.

Calvin Copping threw the first seven innings and allowed just three hits while striking out six. Corey Copping came on to relieve his brother in the eighth and worked the last three. He fanned three and allowed four hits.

Derek Eisen pitched the first six and one-third for the Tigers before giving way to Tony Veiller. Between them they allowed just five hits but still fell a buck short.

Temple City improved to 8-1 in the Rio Hondo, one half game ahead of Monrovia. South Pas dropped to 3-6.

Monrovia 9 San Marino 1

Monrovia scored in every inning, racked up 12 hits and went on to rout San Marino 9-1 Friday. The Wildcats jumped out to a 5-0 lead after three and never looked back.

Monrovia got back on track in the Rio after falling to Temple City 3-2 on Wednesday. The Cats improved to 7-1 while the Titans dropped into fourth place at 4-5.
