By Tim Peterson (Temple City) – Former Temple City Ram star Julian Jarrard has signed a contract as an undrafted free agent with the Milwaukee Brewers he confirmed Thursday.
This is a column I didn’t think I’d have to write. You see my deadline is Sunday and on Saturday May 21 I figured I would be raptured out with the rest of the Christians. It didn’t happen. Wow, what gives?
(Temple City) – St. Bonaventure scored three runs in the first inning and that was enough to beat Temple City as the Rams fell 4-2 in the first round of the CIF Division 4 playoffs Thursday.
(Temple City) – Corey Copping went the distance and struck out 10 including the last three batters of the contest as Temple City shut out La Canada 3-0 Wednesday in Rio Hondo League play.
By Corey Kwok (Temple City) – Ben Sanderson fanned 10 and allowed just one run in five innings as Temple City beat La Salle Prep of Milwaukie, Oregon 8-1 Thursday. Temple City’s pitchers struck out 14 in all and the offense did the rest rapping out nine hits.
It’s still early. League play just started for most schools while others will get underway next week. (Temple City) – Bowdien Derby threw a complete game shutout and the offense did more than enough as La Salle blanked Temple City 6-0 Thursday at the Elks Tournament.
By Tim Peterson Temple City 1 South Pasadena 0 10 innings Branden Pultz’ base hit in the bottom of the tenth inning plated Julian Jarrard to give Temple City a 1-0 win over South Pasadena Friday.
I took a working vacation last week. And although it was a vacation from the usual 9:00-5:00 grind it was all work when it came to covering sports. Of course sitting in the sun watching baseball games isn’t really work so I guess it was a vacation after all.
(Arcadia) – Temple City scored six runs in the sixth inning to break it open and went on to beat University 8-3 Wednesday at the Apache Invitational.
