Last year I ponied up the big bucks to go to a World Series game at the Stadium believing that it was a last chance opportunity for me to witness. I never would have believed they would make it back again this year. If it wasn’t for the Machado trade it wouldn’t have happened. But now we’re here and almost everyone I know shares the feeling that Kershaw is not the Ace. Most also cringe and shake their heads when it’s announced Kershaw is pitching because it’s a coin flip on which Kershaw is going to show up. The regular season Kershaw or the playoffs Kershaw. Two very different pitchers. Hall of Fame material? Probably. One of the best of all time? Not a chance until he can win the big game when it counts, and he can’t do that anymore. With his back and arm problems reducing his velocity to journeyman levels, it is vital that he not hang his curves and leave his sliders up like he seems to do in the playoffs. I said last week somewhere on these blogs that when Kershaw ops out of his remaining 2 years, which he will, Dodgers should breath a sigh of relief because that 65 million can be better spent. Machado for example should be a priority to resign. Analytics has ruined the game but it is here to stay, so use that 65 million to go get 3 good pitchers that can pitch as well in the playoffs as they do in the regular season. Sounds so simple right?
    From T. Peterson: I agree 100 percent.

BG will beat Schurr. Pretty easy too! Both offenses best player is their WR. Next best guy in game is BG QB. Schurr has no other threat to hurt BG with. Defensively Schurr can’t stop run, that’s what BG does best. Schurr offense won’t have a good enough scheme to expose BG and their OL isn’t very good. I think BG will do good job against run and decent job on Hartfield. Also, judging on what Montebello WR did to Schurr D, if they dont cover him with 2 guys then he will have big day like Montebello WR did. They are similar players. BG guy might be a little more explosive actually

@ BG SPEC: We at Alhambra know that our prospects for making the playoffs are between slim and none, and slim is the underdog.
Whichever way it turns out, we’ve had a decent run this season, and it’ll be something to build on for next year.

@Viking, Amen! Everyone wants to blame Davish for the loss in game seven. He wouldn’t have to pitched game seven if Kershaw would have won game five after the offense spotted him seven runs. One of the best of all times? Not even close. Give me the bulldog any day.

BG is okay but Schurr will shut them down. The game could go either way. It took four years for BG to have a chance against Schurr. Shows you how bad is BG….

Clayton Kershaw has been the biggest disappointment. So overrated when it comes to being one of the best ever. Honestly believe he’s the reason we lost last years World Series. The dodgers gave him a 4 run lead, and a 3 run lead after he gave up that 4 run lead in game five that would have put the Dodgers up in the series 3 games to 2, and heading back to LA. He just melts down, does not have the it factor when it comes to pitching in big games. Say what you want to defend him, but the post season numbers don’t lie. Showed his true colors again last night in Boston. Dodgers constantly battling back to tie the game, and Kershaw would just come back out to pitch and give Boston the lead right back. Had just one 1-2-3 inning last night. For being called an ACE, and one of the best of all time is pathetic. Zero confidence in Kershaw, I don’t know how anybody still has confidence in him taking the mound in critical games.

Just had to vent, sorry. Very frustrating watching sometimes.

BG by at least 2 tds. Schurr cannot stop the run or pass. If BG plays sound football they win big. Also, no playoffs for the Spartans. Let’s go BG!!

    1) It’s not easy to lose a game while scoring 142 points, perimeter defense should be the Lakers number one priority.
    2) The Dodgers will not win a WS with Clayton Kershaw. And NO, he’s not one of the best of all times, too many post season disappointments.
    6) I am a Cowboys fan and I can honestly say that’s a terrible trade. Just like giving up two first rounds picks for Galloway in the nineties and one of them ended up being Shaun Alexander.

BG beats Schurr by at least 3 TD. Schurr does not have much offensively and will give it up on defense. Agustin Velasquez will show that he is the best player on the field and also show why he should be in the run for MVP of the league. He will be the difference in the game because when it comes down to it he will make the plays. Schurr will not be able to stop him will be too much for them. Schurr offense will find a way to turn the ball over in a big situation or not be able to convert. Then the defense will give up a big play and that is it. BG CO- League Champs!
