(West Covina) – South Hills has named Danilo Robinson as its new head coach Fred Robledo of SGVN Sports reported Wednesday.
Robinson, a 1992 graduate of Covina, most recently coached at Sky View High in Utah where he won back to back section titles.
Robinson played at Utah State and has had over 15 years of coaching experience at the high school and college levels including a stint as an assistant at his alma mater Utah State from 2005-2008.
Robinson replaces Matt Bechtel who stepped down to take over as head coach at Damien after guiding the Huskies to a CIF Division 6 championship and an overall record of 14-1 last season.
Football is football! D1 football player and assistant coach; high school experience very positive. YES may now coach a little different group of athletes….ethnicity especially????I predict he has good personality and can motivate=he will do well
@ Pac 5 Scout Actually, Mike Hobbie of San Marino did quite well winning a CIF Championship recently. Yes he came from Fresno, most would consider that another planet, but before that I believe he was in Florida. So he had no local contacts or experience. So I’ll challenge your statement.
No body has ever come from out of state and had good success. A high school coach needs to have a history of some kind with the local football scene. SH really rolled the dice with this one.
Is he bringing a staff with him from Sky View? He’s been out of there area awhile, hope he can find coaches.
Just a little joke guys. Sounds like a good hire. Must not be much of McGregor fans huh.
Did you not read the article? It told you who he is
@McGregor
HMMM, Let’s see if we can help you with your question… Read the story!
Congratulations Coach. Welcome back to the SGV. Surely the Huskies hired a good coach. Good luck to you.
Sounds like a qualified coach, that’s who.
“Who the DELETED is that guy?”
