1. The Toronto Raptors beat the Golden State Warriors 118-109 in Game 1 of the NBA Finals.

2. The Dodgers beat the New York Mets 2-0 Thursday night to take 3 of 4 in the series.

3. The St. Louis Blues and the Boston Bruins are tied 1-1 in the Stanley Cup Final. Game 3 is Saturday night in St. Louis.

4. Houston Rockets head coach Mike D’Antoni has ended talks with management about a contract extension. He has one year left on his current deal.

5. Safety Earl Thomas has been impressive in his first week of practices with the Baltimore Ravens. Thomas hadn’t been on the field since breaking his left leg eight months ago.

6. LeBron James’ sons, Bronny, 14, and Bryce, 11, will attend Sierra Canyon in Chatsworth.

7. The Dodgers Cody Bellinger leads the National League in batting average at .378 and RBI with 52. He’s second in the league in home runs with 20, one behind Milwaukee’s Christian Yelich.

8. On this date in 1983 the Philadelphia 76ers completed a sweep of the Lakers in the NBA Finals with a 115-108 victory in Game 4. 76er center Moses Malone was named MVP.

9. Former New York Jets Super Bowl III winning quarterback Joe Namath turns 76 today.

10. “Fo, fo, and fo.” – Moses Malone when giving his prediction on how the 76ers would do in the 1983 NBA playoffs.

    Ralph Lawler enacted an important piece of legislation which says that the first team to 100 wins. The law was observed in game one of the finals.
