@Watcher
Your political views are no place for this blog. I know your kind, always saying why me….and you sit there bickering about your life instead of doing something about it. Your the kid on the playground that gets the ball taken from him and runs to the teacher crying, if you want the ball come take it… Here’s something, we don’t want to play with you.
Clearly WUHSD has been in on this con job. Allowing football players to have some need for a class that Cal, Whittier Or Pioneer can’t provide. Why would that be? Same district, teachers,desks. CON JOB. FAKE TEAM.
@Del Rio Watcher
Guess you can’t handle facts, chump.
Del Rio Watcher,
Wow, you actually went there…posts sounds pretty coherent, so not sure why you would compare it to whatever tripe comes out of our current political “leaders”, on both sides of the isle. Seems to me you would like to just ignore policies and procedures that WUHSD engages in only to continue to forge your unsubstantiated narrative…to each their own, I guess.
I didn’t realize that we couldn’t post website links. If you wish to review WUHSD’s Open Enrollment Process just Google Whittier Union High School District and you should find the Home Page Link. Once at the Home Page move your cursor over to the “I Want To…” tab and a few options shall appear. Click on Apply for Open Enrollment option and it will take you to the information needed. Again, this only applies for students residing WITHIN the WUHSD attendance boundaries.
For families residing outside the WUHSD’s attendance boundaries, you will find the Interdistrict Permit information by doing the following; at the home page, move your cursor over the Resources tab, move the cursor down to Parents, then click on Parent Resources. Once at that page click on the Interdistrict Transfer Info option.
Hope this helps!
DRL: What a croc. You sound like Trump. “Read the transcript it was perfect, NO QUID PRO QUO. All my players are honest. The ones that testify under oath are spies.”
TheRanch18 & Del Rio Watcher,
Why don’t you just read what I posted? In the end, all legit moves. So do us all a favor, just stop. Move on to some other gripes that you may have.
By the way, WUHSD’s Open Enrollment window takes place during the last week in January through the first week in February. The following website gives you this current school year’s detailed info. The website should be updated in the next few weeks, to reflect this coming school year’s process. Again, Open Enrollment is ONLY for students WITHIN the WUHSD residence.
Students residing outside the District’s boundaries, in neighboring Districts, must first be released by their district to be able to attend a school within the WUHSD. In order for the neighboring district to release a student, WUHSD must have an academic program that the neighboring school district does not have. Just like how a handful of WUHSD students transfer to La Habra due to their Heritage Program, which the WUHSD does not offer. This is what one calls an Inter-District Permit. WUHSD schools offer many programs that students find appealing that neighboring district do not offer, hence the request for inter-district transfers into WUHSD.
Please note though, both Open Enrollment and inter-district permits are NOT guaranteed.
Hope this helps clear things up in regards to your concerns…
CIF transfer Portal says it all. Looking at it and stats 99% are not even starters and have limited playing time. So this is a nothing burger. They have not affect on the team.
Where’s the love??? SO much hating here. Enjoy your last games this week and for those who make the playoffs good luck! Make a name for the DRL!!!
@ TheRanch18
WOW, your talking about a transfer from Cathedral a private school, LMAO…
FYI, LS does not recruit and If a player chooses to come to LS he must go through the correct process with the WUHSD. There’s a huge difference between a private and public schools football program. What do you think LS is a Bosco or Mater Dei and if you come to LS your going to make it to the next level?
@Watcher,
You claim to be a Del Rio supporter but you continually bash LS’s program. You’ve read my post before and continue to hide behind your username, MAN UP COWARD! Your a man without a team and nobody cares about your opinion.
I’m a stable genius and all La Serna football players live in Friendly Hills.
@ MAVERICK
are you blind or just choose to not see the truth? you seriously are sitting here telling us all kids on LS team are kids with in your area????? WOW! LOL! REALLY??? lol
dont you have a kid that just transfered from cathedral?
you should just go on the CIF transfer portal and see for your self LS gets transfers
Maverick,
No need to come up with names of students who reside in sister schools’ attendance area (CHS, PHS, WHS, SFHS) or from neighboring districts such as ERUSD, HLPUSD, NLMUSD, FJUHSD, or any other neighboring districts not mentioned…All that is needed to know is that the moves have been legit, whether through Open Enrollment (within the WUHSD), or through inter-district permits due to an academic program neighboring districts didn’t offer.
And as far as we know, the LSHS coaches do not make recruitment house calls, or encourage athletes from said schools to transfer over. You will not find one kid out there claiming that one of the LSHS coaches came calling. Unlike other neighboring district schools stating the obvious, “…giving opportunities to the 3rd or 4th string players at St. John Bosco…”
@Del Rio Watcher (ER homer)
Alternate universe? Nah, we just win with what we get. Kids come here because of academics and athletics. Kids that should be coming here go to La Habra, Servite, St. John Bosco, La Mirada, and a bunch of other places as well, so quit playing victim and win the games you are suppose to win (ER should’ve been an overrated Northview) Just hope that ER doesn’t take a dump against the Chiefs. And I love how people complain about that losing Pioneer ruins a third place spot for playoffs… everyone knows what the stakes are – so win!
@ del rio watcher- for someone who watches you don’t pay attention or know too much! Your on the outside looking in! Thank you for your compliment though…about la serna being a whittier all star team, your too kind. I think our team works hard and is very well coached and we take it one game at a time. @ the others, yes I think most school districts do have an open enrollment period which students can transfer for a number of different reasons? Classes or an academic reasons is one of them. Its up to the schools administration to verify things are in order. With that being said, people are gonna hate for whatever you do…all we can do is take it in stride! …THE KINGDOM.
You LS fans are funny. I’am not a Cal or ER fan but a Del Rio fan including LS, but you folks make your own truths anyway. Now you want me to PI your players to prove my point. LOL. Tell you what.Go to any bus stop in South Whittier, Los Nietos, Norwalk and Whittier Blvd, Slauson Ave. between 7 and 8 am and you will find all kinds of boys in LS gear. I don’t blame them for going to nice LS but please! And don’t ask me to give it a rest. This is to much fun. You don’t have to read me. You can skip to Klaus and etal.
Why do you think it’s an ER fan? We have nothing but respect for La Serna.
This so called Del Rio Watcher is not an El Rancho guy. ER respects La Serna for what their program has become, I can go back to last year this dude is a Cal High supporter, he went as far as claiming Cal would beat ER in back to back year and it hasn’t been close. Sure La Serna has some kids that might live in surrounding areas but hey kids are attracted to successful programs. ER has has a few kids from Whittier and Montebello… so what.
You’re not kidding. For example, Burns Bros at DR and Bustos kid at La Serna. High school football is a joke now. Blame the parents, blame the coaches, the administrators, CIF. Basically, it’s become capitalism at its finest. It’s a business now more than ever.
You don’t know how these things work, last year Whittier was out because every spot from 1-16 in D10 was for auto qualifiers, this year in D11 there is only 10-11 Auto qualifiers leaving spots for 5-6 At Large, bracketology 101 been doing this for 20 years..
Nope he’s not an ER guy, he’s a Cal guy, he’s been talking ER slip ups since last year and never been accurate.
They were taken out at the beginning of the 4th. Qtr., Mr. Anonymous. Running up the score would’ve been the case if they had been left in the game for the entire 4th, which they were not. Were you at the game? No. You’re going off a Tweet. I was there.
@Del Rio Watcher aka ER fan
Your statement about LS is ridiculous. It’s obvious you’re hating because your team is not on the same level.
If you know so much, please tell us what players are now playing for LS? And what schools are they from? I’ll wait…
Here’s a lesson for you. Winners focus on winning and losers focus on winners! I know where your focus lies.
@Area:That is what they said about Whittier last year and that was in D10. There are more teams,more leagues and more 2nd place finishers not tied in D11. To give a 5 team league 3 playoff spots in D11 will never happen. ER is out with a loss.
@del rio watcher is an ER parent. Go back to the ranch get over it.
@Wow, I was referring to the preseason you dolt! Your league had always been weak
If ER takes a dump in this game they would get a wild card spot in the division as there is only about 10-11 automatics in D11 and the only other 7-3 at large is Brentwood, there will be no need though. ER will be a seed in D11.
Give it a rest…
It is obvious to all high school football followers that La Serna athletes do not all live in the La Serna attendance area. Much like recent past powers Buena Park, Arcadia, San Marino, Charter Oak, West Covina etc. once they stopped getting freshmen tranfers and a few recuits they had to compete on an equal level and surprise, the king had no clothes. La Serna is a Whittier area all-star team. But it is pointless to argue with Lancer fans that wish to live in an alternate universe.
Critical game Friday night Santa-Fe vs El Rancho. Last year 7-3 Whittier was denied a spot. This year, should Santa Fe defense show up big and stop the Dons we have a tie for 2nd place with Santa Fe getting the nod because of the head to head win. Santa Fe would qualify as a 2nd place rep into D9 and be lunch meat for Foothill or Newport Harbor in round 1. That leaves 7-3 highly ranked Dons out on their rears. That is what happens when you let Pioneer leave without getting another team in. You lose a 3rd spot into the playoffs.
@ Klaus
be careful what you say, lol, not everyone lives in your district. lol …
Klaus,
I’m sure your AD does, but please don’t state that all members of the team reside within the district…which not all do. A few may reside in a neighboring district’s school attendance and may be attending La Serna due to neighboring District not offering a specific academic program and La Serna does. And definitely not all athletes reside withing La Serna’s attendance boundaries, but in fact they may reside within one of the WUHSD schools boundaries. Open Enrollment though, within the district, has allowed for such moves/transfers. All moves are legit, and within the letter of the law.
Charter Oak is no longer getting talent from other places.
We now see the are on the same level as all the other schools in Covina. They will be the worst soon.
Everybody Relax on Cantwell . They play in a weak league and play weak competition.
@Del Rio Watcher
The only transfer we got from Cal was a kid that started at La Serna, went to Cal, then came back… Cal has tons of big bodies and talent that I’m sure La Serna would like to have in addition but we aren’t knocking on doors begging kids to come over. Get your facts straight and stop whining.
