@Tim. Also, I was making reference to Two’s comment, not Sondheimer.

@Tim: How is this not political: “The sure-fire way to get football back on track is to install the nation’s leading Covid19 authority, Barack Obama, as the King of containment. The virus doesn’t stand a chance against a man with that kind of mainstream media support.” This has nothing to do with sports or reality.

UC College system with 500,000 students cancelled the fall classes except for on-line classes. Maybe high schools can see some sports in spring of 2021 if the expected fall outbreak does not materialize to hard. These athletes will have to sign waivers agreeing to waive any claims against anyone at the school if they contract C-19. One positive case would shut down all athletic programs at the school more than likely.

Tim, with all due respect, Fly Eagle Fly was responding to the commenter “Two,” who began this thread with a political comment. He wasn’t criticizing Eric Sondheimer.
But, other than that, you’re right.

@Two. Save stuff like this for Hannity/Limbaugh/Fox/4chan. Put down the tinfoil hat and get some fresh air. So much for keeping political commentary off the website.
From T. Peterson: How is Sondheimer’s comment political? The only one that went political is you. And yes keep that crap off the site! Next time it’s deleted!

Los Angeles County reported 1,017 new cases of the coronavirus today, while the 57 other counties in California had a combined total of fewer than 200 new cases.
Our “re-opening” in the L.A. metropolitan area could easily lag a month or two behind the re-openings in most other parts of the state.
Around 75% of the coronavirus cases in California have been reported in the seven southernmost counties, including L.A. County, which alone accounts for nearly half the cases in the entire state.
It’s not looking that great for us right now.

Holding the high school football season during second semester might not be outside the realm of possibility.
Perhaps there will be football but no basketball. Social distancing would be easier to pull off in a large outdoor venue such as a football facility, as opposed to a cramped arena or gymnasium.
My guess is that high school baseball and softball could stand a chance next year as well.

Is it fair to call it high school football with players in full body armor, no coaches on the sidelines, only in the stands spread out and all under 50. No fans, bands or cheer leaders, no snack bars, no refs, and get this, no tackling only flag yanking. Soddenhammer you are drunk or have dementia.
