that’s nothing new with any team, you will always have a few idiots who blame the coaching, when it’s simply their kid dropping the ball or missing the tackle… it plagues stands across the country.

With the stands empty, we can hear everything including the ER’s parents yelling and blaming coaches. Quite embarrassing if you asked me.

Pac5 you are right about the scenario this year no doubt.I am not saying he is not a good football player but I think your missing the point of being at Sierra vista and a decent league ,if you surround your self with good talent doesn’t necessarily mean you will excel your skill set .Just look at the QB from Damian has all the tools and a good team around him but against elite competition he folds look at the games .Now with the whole BP -SV game I think it’s just sad that egos will not let seniors play that’s just sad .I am glad kids are staying home but remember he didn’t .

As for doggy well your name speaks for itself .

What’s going on with Covina?? I thought they were happy to get in that cake walk league? I thought they would run house against Chino, Pomona, and Rowland. Guess I was wrong.

Lol what do you want me to say, offense needs to execute, we had our chances but couldn’t convert. Every other year we’re putting up 40+ points with a 5’3 qb and y’all don’t say anything and the one year where we don’t have the practice time you want to talk sh*t.. Some of y’all looking way to deep into the pandemic season, of course we would love to go 5-0, but this is trial under fire for our underclassmen. #fall2021 #waitonit

This is not the year to evaluate any team. These games a like having the Senior Prom at the last minute after it got cancelled. It might be held in the parking lot but oh well. Perennial powers are losing big, many teams playing 2 or 3 games, most teams depleted rosters and coaching staffs are short handed. Heck whole leagues are not playing ball at all. What I watch for then are outstanding players and how they would fare if they lined up along side more talented players. In baseball I look at the high school pitcher that throws strikes at the corners and makes the batter hit a ground ball. That pitcher often never gets a write up because his infielders can’t field ground balls or throw to first base. That happens more than you would think. In football Bautista surrounded by a huge athletic line and with tall speed burner receivers like at a Bosco or Amat or Mater Dei…. he would get noticed, he would fit right in.. That is all I’m saying. Watch the game within the game. And no I don’t know this kid or his family from the man in the moon.

I’m sure you’re more than welcome if you’re going to be at the SM games to do a write up.

I know no one is going to cover San Marino Football this year, but if you went to the SM-South Pasadena game, you got your money’s worth. SP scored on a bootleg left with a little over 1 minute left to take a 20-19 lead (SM missed 2 of 3 extra points with the last barely making it to the back of the end zone) SP failed in a 2 pt attempt. SP 20-19 SM.
1:03 left as SM took its first snap around their own 35. And struggled up the field holding the ball on the 35 with 7 seconds to play. A long pass on a flag route to the right side of the end zone falls incomplete with 0:00 on clock as a pass interference flag is thrown on SP’s defender.
The penalty takes the ball to the SP 20 yd line. And SM puts their kicker out to try a 37 yd field goal, The same kicker whose weak attempt on his second miss at 3 yds failed to have any chance falling way short.
The SP coach is sure, as was almost everyone else, SM would not kick. Time out SP!
And then some how against all odds, the snap, hold and SM kicker kicks the ball. The ball is more of a line drive angle and appears to have little chance to clear the cross bar, but somehow it carries and clears by inches.
SP coach, players, and every fan in the place is gape mouthed SM 22-20 SP, in an improbable finish. As SM holds the Crowley trophy again in the rivalry game. SP goes home having most questioning the last time SP beat SM. Answer 2010

As for ER making excuses … cmon.. you been taking to the wrong people

Cal’s RB Vance Johnson is a STUD … don’t take credit away from him … he balled out … Louie and staff knows our boys very well and they double teamed Angel Diaz ALL GAME .. even triple Teamed on same play ! Look at the Film .. bc Film don’t lie … Angel & George lines up to the right , Vance ran left … Angel & George lined up to the right … Vance Ran left …

They knew our strength and capitalized … smart coaching … kids need to make plays simple as that … my kid included – no excuse … adjust to what is given

Our coaches had the game plan , our boys just needed to execute …. don’t worry .. we’ll be back ! our boys learned a lot from this game

Bautista can ball with anyone … don’t get it twisted just because he DECIDED to not attend a “D1” “Better” school … you guys seriously need to understand football . Lol

So if a kid DECIDES NOT TO ATTEND a trinity school … your telling me he can’t play ? Hahah wow… i admire boomer for staying home his first 3 years and balling out with his home school … you guys discrediting his ability bc of the school he attends is The main reason we are losing the original HS days .. no more days of playing with the kids you went to elementary school with … your kindergarten teaCher cheering you on from the stands

The kid from SV starting for Amat come on now please tell me your a family member .Lmao he went from Garfield to SV two power houses in the trinity league lol.I respect his skill set and is a good football player but never mind 👍🏻.Now all of sudden we give SV a cookie for losing a game (losing )they play a descent team finally and well you seen what happened last year (coaching )By the way BP has a bye next week .They knew el rancho was rebuilding and choose that game smh.at least beat your rival and maybe you can say you guys actually have a winning streak against your cross town rival, that’s a big thing back to back wins .You can east drop el rancho game ,but I can hear the excuses already .

Bautista the starting QB for a very good Garfield High team last year is a real football talent. He has the size, speed and arm to be a legit D1 prospect. How SV landed this kid is nothing less than amazing since he could start at Amat, Bosco or anywhere he wanted.

@ Saturday Sage: Unfortunately, this is the best we can do for the 2020-21 high school football season. This year’s senior class came dangerously close to not being able to play at all. Any football (or baseball, softball, or track) is better than none at this point.
The better news is that we are likely to have a full schedule of games in the late summer and fall of 2021, thanks to the pace of Covid-19 vaccinations and our ongoing virus mitigation efforts. We are going to get there, barring any serious setbacks.

It’s difficult, if not impossible, to gauge the worth of the various teams participating in this pseudo-season. Nonetheless, I’ll venture a guess that the performance of Pearson’s Warren squad is a valid marker of future success.
