@ Four: That’s pretty creative, and I appreciate the subtle humor.
Lockdowns and face masks aren’t going to be permanent things. (At least I hope not.) We were close to lifting nearly all restrictions, except for masks in places such as schools, but the Delta variant of Covid-19 is hitting us at a time when we still have too many unvaccinated people. It’s as simple as that.
We all make personal choices, but we have to be prepared for the consequences if any of those choices have a negative impact on the people around us. What if Dennison had a fellow coach, player, or family member with an immune deficiency or some other health issue like diabetes or asthma? None of us lives in a vacuum.
The Cleveland Guardians? Sound like a Arena Football team, not a baseball team.
Now that I’ve been reassured by Ron Vrooman on the vaccine front, it’s a shame Dennison couldn’t have consulted this blog before taking such a rash stance and getting tossed. Why, I’ve even heard that they’ve rewritten the pledge of allegiance to read: “I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with lockdowns and masks for all.”
