  1. Simone Biles withdrew from the U.S. women’s gymnastics team final in the Tokyo Olympics because her “mental  was not there”. The U.S. won the silver medal while the Russian Olympic Committee took the gold. 
  2. Washington Nationals right-hander Stephen Strasburg will undergo season-ending neck surgery. 
  3. Dodgers pitcher Trevor Bauer’s MLB administrative leave has been extended to August 6. 
  4. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers showed up Tuesday for the first day of Green Bay Packers training camp. 
  5. Damien head baseball coach Andy Nieto has stepped down to pursue other opportunities. 
  6. Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich tested positive for COVID-19 despite being fully vaccinated. 
  7. The U.S currently leads the Tokyo Olympics in total medals with 25. China is second with 23. 
  8. Happy Birthday to Los Altos head football coach Travis Brown who celebrated July 26. 
  9. On this date in 1994 Texas Rangers pitcher Kenny Rogers threw the only perfect game in franchise history, a 4-0 win over the California Angels. 
  10. USC opens the season against San Jose State Saturday September 4 at the Coliseum.

    @peterson you guys going to cover Santa Ana college training camp with Jude and Anthony white being there, really interesting to see how they do with them being able to recruit and hold those camps they do same like a perfect for junior college football
