@ Out of the Box: The whole idea of waiting until after the end of the regular season to organize the playoff divisions was pretty weird. I hope CIF can come up with a better system before next season, when things should be a lot closer to normal.
The way the divisions and the playoffs were set up in 2019 was better, in my opinion. I think we should completely scrap the current format and instead make improvements on the previous one.

League? Look West Covina won the San Antonio league, anyone know that? Claremont though the 2nd place finisher made the headlines and the splash. Winning league today means you get a sticker for your coloring book and rough treatment in the first round.

It’s quite simple…99% of schools focus and goal is Winning a league championship because its realistic. Playing your rivals, the kids knowing each other, and bragging rights are way more important. If a school is lucky enough to win cif ring that is just icing on the cake but I guarantee you all the schools that won league championships are happy about their seasons and getting to add a league championship patch on their banner.

Why have leagues at all? Let the schools make their own 12 game schedules. Let them schedule up or down at their own discretion. At the end of the year let them make up their own bowl matchups for an end of year finale. Why are we letting CIf dictate everything? Who needs them? The Mater Dei fiasco tells us all we need to know. For them it is all about money and power.

Limped into the playoffs? Hahaha That’s how I know you’re dumb. Northview won it’s league. Just a heads up for you as well, schedules are set 2 years in advanced. So Northview schedule for this year was set before CIF decided to change the playoff format. Lol…But I know you wouldn’t know that. For sure you’re hating life right now.lol Keep dancing Northview! CIF Champs! Regional Champs!

LaMirada, get some ambulances ready. Unless you have rounded up a team like you recruited in 2010, it’s gonna be ugly.

I see that La Mirada has failed to also schedule St John Bosco in the early going….so they’re doing the Northview shuffle as well.

Examining teams that have scheduled for 2022 it seems they are going the Northview route. Pile up losses early in non-league and limp into the playoffs with a 2nd or 3rd place in league and get put in D10 and lower. Then we practice our happy dance.
