  1. Dodgers right-hander Walker Buehler underwent Tommy John surgery Tuesday and will not return until the 2024 season. 
  2. Angels owner Arte Moreno says he’s exploring selling the team. 
  3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady returned to the team Monday after being out since early August for personal reasons. 
  4. The Dodgers agreed to terms with Max Muncy on a one-year extension for $13.5 million. 
  5. Great Oak High School in Temecula hired former MLB outfielder Tony Tarasco as its new head coach. 
  6. The Carolina Panthers officially announced Baker Mayfield as their starting quarterback. 
  7. Pasadena receiver Baylin Brooks, who transferred in from Loyola, has been cleared by CIF to play Friday night against Glendora. 
  8. Kevin Durant is staying with the Brooklyn Nets GM Sean Marks announced Tuesday after Marks, Durant, Coach Steve Nash along with Nets ownership had a meeting. 
  9. Washington Commanders defensive end Chase Young will miss the first four games of the season after being placed on the physically unable to perform list.
