Jags Run Past Dons

(Ontario) – Ontario started off fast, fell behind but came back for a 42-32 victory over Sierra Vista Thursday night at Ontario high school.

The Jags first play of the game was a 55-yard run up the middle by Ricky Love and two plays later Isaiah Duncan pounded it in from four yards out. 

The Dons answered just three plays later when Eric Terrazes went for a 52-yard run to paydirt making it 8-7 after a two point conversion. 

Duncan got Ontario back I’m front just a minute later when he ran through the Sierra Vista defense for a 47-yard score.

Terrazes came back with his answer for the Dons with a 38-yard touchdown making it 15-14 at the end of one quarter.

Ontario added to their lead in the second when quarterback Evan Munguia took it in from the one yard line making it 21-14.

The Dons took the lead before half 26-21 on scoring runs of six and 63-yards from Terrazes.

Sierra Vista took up over 10-minutes of the third quarter and capped it off with a two yard touchdown run by Andrew Alcazar putting them up 32-21.

The Jags got to work as Munguia scored just before the end of the third quarter one a 30-yard option cutting the lead to 29-32.

Ontario grabbed the lead late in the fourth quarter on a Duncan touchdown. 

The Jags fumbled two plays after getting the Dons to punt but Sierra Vista would hand it right back over on a fumble of their own. 

Munguia added to Ontario’s lead with a three-yard run to put the game away at 42-32.

Munguia and Duncan combined for over 300-yards and six touchdowns. 

Terrazes found the end zone four times for the Dons and had 16-carries for 277-yards after being out much of the second half due to cramping. 

Sierra Vista will stay on the road and head to Nogales next week. Ontario stays home to face San Gorgonio.
