1. Charles White, former USC running back who won the Heisman Trophy in 1979 and also played for the Rams in the NFL, passed away Wednesday at the age of 64.

2. Dodgers acquired infielder Miguel Rojas from the Miami Marlins for minor league infielder Jacob Amaya. Amaya is a product of South Hills High School. 

3. Chargers receiver Mike Williams did not practice Thursday and is questionable for Saturday’s playoff game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

4. The Dodgers officially released pitcher Trevor Bauer and he is free to sign with any team for $750,000. 

5. USC has had three receivers enter the transfer portal over the last several days: C.J. Williams, Gary Bryant Jr., Kyle Ford. 

6. Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson said his knee remains unstable and that he won’t play in Sunday night’s wild card game against the Cincinnati Bengals. 

7. AP Men’s College Basketball Top 5: 1. Houston 2. Kansas 3. Purdue 4. Alabama 5. Tennessee. UCLA is ranked 7th. 

8. The Houston Rockets have the worst record in basketball at 10-31.

9. On this day in 1974 the Miami Dolphins beat the Minnesota Vikings 24-7 in Super Bowl VIII at Rice Stadium in Houston, Texas. Miami RB Larry Csonka was named MVP. 

10. Former LA Kings goaltender Kelly Hrudey turns 62 today.

    #8 Hard to imagine there’s a worse team than the Lakers at this point.
